Passion for Valencia CF passed down from grandfather to grandson
On February 20th, Manuel Lahuerta turned 87 years old. As he himself says: “I will be a Valencianista until I die. Firstly because I am a big Valencianista, and secondly because I am a Valencian.”
Since then, his grandson, 18 year old Marcos Campaña, wanted to mark his grandfather's birthday with something unforgettable. Together with Valencia CF and the VCF Foundation, he surprised him with a very special visit to Mestalla, meeting up with club ambassador Ricardo Arias.
Manuel Lahuerta, known in his native Chiva as 'Cofia,' became a Valencia CF member in 1963. He was present at Sarrià when the club won the 1971 LaLiga title. His late father's coffin was carried by Vicente Asensi and Salvador Monzó, and many players had lunch at his grandparents' house.
Passion for Valencia CF runs through Manuel's veins, and also those of his grandson.
